Transportation

 

  • The Spuyten Duyvil Metro North station is a five minute walk away, taking you to Grand Central Station in 27 minutes.

  • The BxM1, BxM2, & BxM18 Express Buses leave from the corner of Kappock and Independence, transporting you in quiet comfort to the East Side, West Side and Wall Street.

 

  • Leaving from the same corner, the Bx10 bus takes less than 10 minutes to get you to the No. 1 Subway stop at 231st Street and Broadway.  The Bx20  bus takes you to the  A Train station at 207th Street in Manhattan.

 

 

Parking

 

  • Our building has a small garage with a short waiting list for new apartment owners.

  • Alternate side of the street parking is in effect only one day per week on each side of Kappock Street.

  • Palisades Avenue between Kappock Street and 231st Streets has NO ALTERNATE SIDE PARKING rules, ideal for those who only use their cars on the weekend.

  • Nearby buildings have available spots for rent at reasonable market rates.

Shopping

 

Knoll's Crescent

Just on the other side of the Henry Hudson Parkway, the Knoll's Crescent shopping strip has all the basic staples 

 

These include a Post Office, Rite Aid pharmacy, Chase Bank, barber, beauty parlors, dry cleaner, liquor store, nail salon, pizza parlor, Thai Restaurant, Chinese food takeout, and two grocery stores including Ben's Market which has a high quality selection of meat, fish and fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as a deli counter.

 

The Johnson Avenue Shopping area is a bit less than a mile away.  Here you can find a wide variety of shopping and dining options including:

Moss Cafe (kosher farm-to-table), Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, CVS, Key Food, Subway, Anise Chinese Kitchen, Bella Notte ItalianPalace of Japan, Metate Mexican , Moon Star Grill (pan Asian), Blue Bay (diner), Cumin Indian Cuisine, Menchie's Frozen Yogurt, Aoyu Sushi (Highly Recommended), Liebman's Deli,  Bagel Corner, Pizza Chef, Fresco Tortillas Taco.

 

A few more blocks takes you to Riverdale Avenue with even more culinary options: Cochina CenteThe Hill, Riverdale City Grill, Tin Marin Tapas, Ha-Makolet kosher market, Corner Cafe (kosher), Yo-Burger, Salvatore's of Soho, Greek Express, Tiny's Diner, Rollen Bagels.

 

Walk another 2 blocks east towards Manhattan College and you find the truly unique An Beal Bocht Cafe offering great food and drinks with live music, theater, poetry and art.
